Grindelwald is Nice town with lots to do, skiing, hiking, sledging. From the town you can reach the ski area with the train or the gondola and then ski into the different villages of the Jungfrau Region. Kinderland Bodmi was a little hard to reach from the general ski area. You can ski out, but not ski in.This mountainscape and the numerous lookout points and activities make Grindelwald one of the most popular and cosmopolitan holiday and excursion destinations in Switzerland, and the largest ski resort in the Jungfrau region.Grindelwald is considered extremely safe even at night. This alpine village is known for its welcoming and secure environment. Crimes are very rare and the locals are friendly and helpful.Grindelwald transforms itself into one of the liveliest towns in the Bernese Oberland. Often times, nightly entertainment consists of musical concerts, folklore evenings, or socializing at the bars and discos.The best time to visit Grindelwald is between the months of June to September. Grindelwald in Switzerland experiences cold weather throughout the year. However, the period between June to September has a more pleasant, dry weather, with little to negligible rainfall.The charming mountain region of Grindelwald has a wide range of unforgettable activities and experiences for families to enjoy. Grindelwald has various activities and attractions that are suitable for all members of the family.

Jungfraujoch Saddle-Switzerland

The Jungfraujoch is a saddle connecting two major 4000ers of the Bernese Alps: the Jungfrau and the Mönch. It lies at an elevation of 3,463 metres above sea level and is directly overlooked by the rocky prominence of the Sphinx.Jungfraujoch is famous for being the highest accessible railway in Europe. It is also home to the Sphinx Observation Deck, the Ice Palace, the Snow Park, the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven and other sub attractions.The Jungfraujoch is a glacier saddle, on the upper snows of the Aletsch Glacier, and part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch area, situated on the boundary between the cantons of Bern and Valais, halfway between Interlaken and Fiesch.In 1893, Adolf Guyer-Zeller conceived of the idea of a railway tunnel to the Jungfraujoch to make the glaciated areas on its south side more accessible. The building of the tunnel took 16 years and the summit station was not opened before 1912.Wear warm clothing, as Jungfraujoch is quite chilly even in the summer. Ample sun protection for the skin is necessary due to the powerful radiation at high altitudes. Without sunglasses, there is a high risk of snow blindness on the glacier!The reason Jungfrau is so famous world-wide is its railway - Jungfraujoch is the highest accessible point in Europe - up to a staggering 3,454m height - thanks to its centennial railway, which was inaugurated in 1912.

Lake Lucerne-Switzerland

The most famous and world's oldest one is the Chapel Bridge dating back to the 14th century. Some also offer fireplaces for grilling. Admission is free. All sites are easily accessible from Vitznau on foot or by bike.Lucerne has established a reputation as a worldwide tourism hub and its monuments, such as the modern KKL building and famous wooden medieval Chapel bridge, are well known all over the world. Lucerne, like no other city, really represents the 'chocolate' side of Switzerland.Try one of the most famous local dishes of Lucerne, the Luzerner Chügelipastete. This is a puff-pastry shell filled with diced veal and mushrooms in a creamy sauce. ... The Swiss Alpine Macaroni served with apple sauce is a typical Swiss specialty.Switzerland is famous for its mountains, clocks and its food – especially cheese and chocolates. It's a fantastic place for winter sports. The British Royals love to snowboard in Klosters while skiing in Zermatt gives you fantastic views of the iconic Matterhorn mountain.

Montreux-Switzerland

Montreux is a traditional resort town on Lake Geneva. Nestled between steep hills and the lakeside, it's known for its mild microclimate and the Montreux Jazz Festival, held in July. The town's promenade is lined with flowers, sculptures, Mediterranean trees and grand Belle Époque buildings. Offshore is a medieval island castle, Château de Chillon, with ramparts, formal halls and a chapel with 14th-century murals.The famous Montreux Jazz Festival, which has been held annually since 1967, also attracts many music enthusiasts. One can also mention its magnificent Christmas Market in winter or the Montreux Comedy Festival. The region also offers some of the best hotel schools in the world and several renowned private clinics.Montreux is popular for many reasons. For one, it's a cultural city, holding the Montreux Jazz Festival and September Music Festival, popular annual music events. Additionally, it sits on Lake Geneva with the city and mountains nearby. Finally, it's a great place to discover Swiss wine from the Lavaux vineyards.Montreux, town, comprising three resort communities (Le Châtelard-Montreux, Les Planches-Montreux, and Veytaux-Montreux; merged 1962) in Vaud canton, western Switzerland, extending 4 miles (6 km) along the eastern shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman).Montreux is the place to stay. Montreux or Vevey (Lausanne is much bigger, more of a city rather than a town, not as easy to walk around). Montreux has a more international feel, and Vevey more traditional Swiss. I found restaurants in Montreux a bit more expensive then Vevey.

Rhine Falls(Europe's Biggest Waterfall)-Switzerland

The Rhine Falls is a waterfall located in Switzerland and the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich.The Rhine Falls (Rheinfall) is breathtaking stupendous beauty and the largest plain waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine at Neuhausen am Rheinfall Village and just below Schaffhausen in the north of Switzerland. The Rhine's waters flow at the rate of 23 meters over a breadth of 150 meters.At 23 metres high and 150 metres wide, the Rhine Falls is Europe's biggest waterfall. Situated near the picturesque Swiss town of Schaffhausen and along the Rhine River, it's a popular tourist destination. It's a stunning attraction I would recommend for a day out.The Middle Rhine was the heart of the medieval Holy Roman Empire and the region was a magnet for great artistry, ingenuity, and craftsmanship. During its heyday, it was one of the most important trading areas in Europe—arguably, the world.The most beautiful section of the Rhine Valley is the Upper-Middle Rhine Valley, between Koblenz and Bingen. This section of the Rhine valley is often called the Rhine Gorge or the Romantic Rhine Valley, and is known as one of Europe's most picturesque landscapes, and it's not hard to see why!
